Environmental Chemistry is a branch of chemistry that focuses on the study of chemical processes occurring in the environment. This course introduces learners to the sources, reactions, transport, effects, and fate of chemical species in air, water, soil, and living organisms. It examines how natural and human activities influence the environment and explores methods for monitoring, controlling, and reducing pollution.

Learners will study key topics such as atmospheric chemistry, water and wastewater chemistry, soil chemistry, toxicology, energy resources, waste management, and environmental impact assessment. The course also emphasizes analytical techniques used in environmental monitoring, including sampling, chemical analysis, and interpretation of environmental data.

Physical Chemistry is a branch of chemistry that focuses on understanding the physical principles underlying chemical systems and processes. This course introduces learners to the fundamental concepts that explain how matter behaves at the molecular and atomic levels. Key topics include thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, quantum chemistry, equilibrium, electrochemistry, and properties of gases, liquids, and solids.

This course introduces students to essential laboratory techniques, safety procedures, and professional conduct within scientific workspaces. It emphasizes proper handling of equipment and chemicals, accurate measurement, effective data recording, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Students gain practical experience in maintaining laboratory hygiene, minimizing errors, and working collaboratively while applying good laboratory practices (GLP).

This course provides a foundational understanding of chemical principles and their applications. Students will explore atomic structure, chemical bonding, states of matter, reactions, stoichiometry, and basic thermodynamics. Through practical experiments and theoretical lessons, learners will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for scientific work. The course prepares students for further studies in chemistry and related scientific fields.
